What is the value of using elements from the Dublin Core in HTML META tags?
I learn a little HTML and found the use of CD labels or Dublin Core, for example, and do a little looking around, I can only note that there 15 basic elements, but do not understand why they are used. What is the point of them? Anyone? Ok, but how they differ from the meta tags is normal? eg meta name = keywords, description, etc, and what is the point of everyone else? are the name as = "DC.Language" name = "DC.version" name = "DC.Format" scheme = "DCTERMS.IMT" name = "DC.date.modified" name = "Dc.date.created" etc. .. certainly not all are used for search?
The initiative was created to address a crisis seeming to web search and recovery. The current crisis is that the engines Web search covers only part of the Internet. To solve the problem, we decided to develop a standard vocabulary of the resource (website) descriptions. A controlled vocabulary was developed by a group of veterans of SGML as the Dublin Core (DC). The CD includes: Set of metadata elements, defines the basic semantics of Web resources that can be mixed across namespaces with the specific problem of metadata. Core-rating factor used for refinement. They are the meaning of a specific element. These are attributes that may be included in an item. Using the syntax of the Dublin Core metadata elements rather than develop a vocabulary Custom provides a consistent approach and standard for describing the content your site. The syntax of the Dublin Core can be combined with standard meta tags without any trouble. Dublin Core is supported by various search engines (like Ultraseek, for example) that can be used to add search functionality to your own site. Meta tags have evolved from a resource to gain visibility in search engines to actually describe the content. Dublin Core is a metadata standard approach and has received much support, but not the only initiative. Another focus of the metadata standard is part of Warwick, May and others will follow.
